Target Audience
This activity is designed for all medical professionals who are interested in learning the clinical and therapeutic benefits of cannabis for their patients.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
· Define general pharmacokinetics principles.
· Present the pharmacokinetics of cannabidiol and factors that can change absorption and metabolism.
· Describe the current opioid crisis in the USA and identify new uses to replace opioids.
· Describe cognitive deficits that have been associated with recreational cannabis use, including relative impairments in executive functions, verbal learning, and memory.
· Discuss limitations of current research designs in assessing cause-effect associations between cannabis use and neurobehavioral deviations.
· Describe ways in which medical cannabis research might inform current controversies in the field regarding harmful versus helpful effects of cannabis use.
