René Maarek, a pharmacist and educator based in Paris, earned his Doctorate in Pharmacy in 1993. He managed the Montreuil pharmacy until 2020 and now manages the Bastille pharmacy. René has extensive experience in hospital practice and addiction treatment, having worked at René Muret Hospital and Fleming St Martin/St Barthélémy Hospital. Since 2000, he has been a motivational interviewing trainer and has collaborated with the French Society for the Fight against AIDS (SFLS) and the UNESCO Chair in Sexual Health. An expert in therapeutic cannabis since 2019, René also provides CBD training. He holds leadership roles including President of the Syndicate of Pharmacists 93, UPRP-USPO IdF, Pharm Addict, and DEEM, and is an elected member of URPS Île-de-France.
